Writing inspired by the restoration of Brianne! Anne discovered that while we were doing this restoration project that she could be creative in expressing my experiences! What follows are two pieces that she wrote that were published in the Classic Chevrolet International magazine! Ten Things Your Husband Forgets to Tell You Prior to Starting a Restoration Project! 1. The UPS man will know his way to your house blindfolded! 2. The budget now becomes alphabetized so that grill comes before groceries! 3. You know the parts supply house number as well as you know your home number! 4. Getting ready for a night out with your husband now means putting on your coveralls and walking hand in hand to the garage, 5. The tank of the toilet now becomes a bookshelf! 6. Your oven bakes newly painted car parts! 7. Your living room becomes a display case of what the UPS man delivered this week. 8. Your dishwasher doubles as a parts washer. 9. The guest bed now has rims and side pipes! 10. When you hear your husband singing the melody “You Are The Love of My Life” you are not sure if he is singing to you or the car!
Written for my
husband Brian W. Reece, Sr My Husband’s Perfect Mistress
My husband has a perfect mistress, but that’s fine with me. For no one deserves this perfection anymore than he. She never talks on the telephone too long. She never corrects him when he’s wrong. She never burns dinner or misplaces the checkbook. She never questions his logic or gives him dirty looks! He spends lots of money on her, but that I just expect. For he wants her to look great and be the very best. We go may places together, just the three of us. She gets his undivided attention with just one little fuss. My husband loves it when I give his mistress attention, To some this seems completely beyond comprehension. I truly believe my husband needs a mistress such as this, For she never gets or gives a hug or even a little kiss. I could never replace the mistress; she could never replace me. For I am a loving woman and she is a 1955 Chevy.
